Our oldest pride and joy turned the big N-I-N-E on February the 8th.
I remember 9....it's so hard to believe I have a kid that age!
I know it sounds cliche but, I don't want my babies to grow up so fast!
Here's our babygirl the morning of her birthday:
Since I missed blogging last year, here's a little flashback.
We started a tradition a couple years ago for the girls.
On their birthdays, they get flowers (preferably roses: 1 for each year)
and a fancy date night with their daddy. Last year, however,
Kam made her own plans, which included a date night with mommy
instead, at her favorite restaurant Red Lobster...followed by shopping, of course =)
thanks to a complete computer wipe (heartbreak...but I will blog on that later).
The girls were tired of having joint parties. They wanted their OWN friends, their
OWN gifts, their OWN cake, candles and all the attention. Understandable.
But, this year, they wanted the SAME theme: A Horse themed sleepover.
So, you may see similar pics again in my blog about Heidi's upcoming [identical]
party in March lol but this is Kamryn's Party...aaaaall hers lol
But I came up with a few and decided to run them all together.
First, the girls had to pair up and choose a role: 1 being the horse, 1 being the groomer.
Then, the groomer had to try to create the most interesting ponytail.
Then the horse had to bob for an apple (which turned out to be the biggest hit, and yet
pretty challenging and hilarious), then drop the apple into their groomers hand, the groomer
had to saddle up onto her horse and then place her apple on a spoon.
They had the make a lap around the couch without dropping the apple.
It was a hard game so we were lenient lol...but it was very loud and very funny!
After the games, we made bracelets, opened presents, then sang "Happy Birthday" and cut the cake *sniff sniff*
After that, we played "Pin the tail on the Pony"...after all, what's a birthday party
without pinning something on something lol. Then we settled down for the movie
"Dreamer". After the movie, brave me tucked 10 kids in, 7 of which were
staying in our master bedroom. It was a long night but it helps having a fun,
awesome group of girls!
for their basketball game right after! It was a rushed morning,
and long Saturday for me! My husband was working that weekend
so that meant a whole crew by myself! I'm use to toting all of my kids
everywhere, but we added a couple more that day. It was no more
challenging...just had to make sure not to misplace anyone lol
(of course I would never...)
